Hello from Rye, New Hampshire! Rye has been close to my heart for many years as it has been my family's favorite place to escape to in the summer. Learn more about my experiences here down below.

To start my blogging career off, I want to talk about one of my favorite places on Earth: Rye, NH. Many of you I am sure, connect with one particular place that you tend to visit more and more. Well, for me that place is Rye!

“Our favorite summer destination.”- Athanasios Liakos

Every summer, my family and I spend our time swimming and tanning the shores of Rye, NH. Although the water is freezing, my brother and I spend 3/4 of our time in the water boogie boarding and surfing!

What to do?

Besides relaxing on the beach, climbing the rocks, and jumping off the near by bridge (it's small don't worry) my family loves to check out Summer Sessions Surf Shop at Jenness Beach a few miles down to where we usually are located. Here, they sell bathing suits and wetsuits, an abundance of sunscreen, and of course, some really cool surf boards! The surf shop also offers surf lessons and training!

Across from Wallis Sands State Beach, the Isles of Shoals is noticeably visible. All of my life I had wondered what was over on that tiny island, and then, one rainy day my family decided to take a boat over and find out for ourselves! It was about a 45 minute boat ride from Rye Harbor which I truly enjoyed because I devoted my time to looking for any Humpback, Finback, or Minke whale around. Unfortunately, I did not see any whales during this excursion, but I did see many sea gulls! The Isles of Shoals consists of a few islands, including Star Island which features a beautiful hotel. Our visit was short, but we finally visited the isles we had been looking at all this time. I would highly recommend taking a visit over to the Isles of Shoals the next time you visit the shores of New Hampshire and check that experience off the bucket list!

There are plenty more activities to do in Rye, New Hampshire but those are what I would suggest from personal experience! Look for future posts on other areas in New Hampshire!
